Role Overview
We are seeking a junior-level engineer to design and execute protection, control, and physical layout projects for utility substations, ranging from new builds to existing facility upgrades. In this role, you will work both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Protection & Control Design: Develop and review critical design documents, including one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOM).
- Physical Layout Design: Create electrical profiles, grounding plans, and conduit/raceway layouts. Perform essential engineering calculations, such as voltage drop, conduit fill, and breaker sizing.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with internal engineering teams, project managers, external contractors, and clients to ensure projects meet technical specifications, budget targets, and scheduling deadlines.
- Field Work & Planning: Conduct site evaluations and prepare detailed engineering scopes of work.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution. Exceptional candidates with a master's or doctorate in electrical engineering may be considered with less practical experience.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant engineering experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret and analyze electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings. Proficient with industry-standard engineering software.
- Core Competencies: Detail-oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% for project needs.
