Client Experience & Sales Manager

Full-Time | 35 to 40 Hours Per Week

Substance Salon is a luxury hair salon in Rutherford, NJ with 17+ years of brand reputation, loyal clients, and a strong position in the local beauty market.

We are hiring a Client Experience & Sales Manager to lead the front desk, manage the guest journey, support salon operations, and help drive revenue growth.

This is not a passive receptionist position. This is a leadership-track role for someone polished, organized, tech-capable, sales-minded, and serious about building a career in beauty, wellness, hospitality, or luxury client service.

Key Responsibilities

Client Experience

Greet every guest with professionalism, warmth, and confidence

Manage phone calls, booking requests, confirmations, cancellations, and client questions

Guide clients through the appointment process and ensure a seamless guest experience

Handle client concerns with calm, clear communication

Protect the salon’s luxury standard from the first phone call to checkout

Booking & Sales Growth

Keep stylist schedules consistently full

Convert phone calls, online leads, and inquiries into booked appointments

Support rebooking, upgrades, add-ons, and retail sales

Track opportunities to increase client retention and salon revenue

Help the team hit monthly service, retail, and booking goals

Operations & Technology

Manage schedules using salon booking software

Create and update client accounts accurately

Troubleshoot basic booking, account, payment, and communication issues

Use POS systems, email, text platforms, and internal systems confidently

Keep front desk operations organized and efficient

Marketing & Brand Support

Support social media content, client engagement, and salon promotions

Assist with hiring posts, team culture content, and local marketing initiatives

Help promote Substance Salon as a luxury beauty destination in Rutherford

Inventory & Team Support

Monitor retail, back bar, and color inventory

Communicate product needs and assist with ordering

Support stylists and leadership with daily operational needs

Help maintain a professional, positive, high-performance salon environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in client service, sales, hospitality, medical office, spa, med spa, salon, or luxury retail environments

Strong phone, communication, and client service skills

Comfortable using computers, booking systems, POS systems, email, and social media

Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask under pressure

Professional appearance and polished communication style

Sales-minded, proactive, and comfortable discussing services and products

Able to take ownership, follow through, and solve problems without constant supervision

Interested in a long-term career path in beauty, wellness, hospitality, or business management

Compensation

Paid training starts at $19 per hour After training, compensation increases to $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience, performance, leadership ability, and results

Monthly performance bonus opportunity up to $1,500, based on sales, booking conversion, schedule utilization, retail performance, and operational goals
