Internship - Lab Productivity and Performance, Singapore (January to June 2027)

Education required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Engineering discipline with a focus in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or Chemistry

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a full-time credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Internship period: January to June 2027

What will you do?

Support lab productivity and efficiency through waste removal, process flow review, digital application of lean tools, and setting up a Kanban/inventory control system for consumables and reagents. Identify opportunities to embed green procurement practices.

• Map current lab process flows, identify waste (NVA steps, delays, handoffs) and propose value stream improvements (for example in Chemist lab and Micro lab)

• Pilot and configure an online application (e.g.,Migratation of lab system and moving to digital scheduling tool) to capture analytical data and standard work

• Working with Green Lab team to promote Green Initiatives for the QC laboratory and office and to recommend greener alternatives (reusable items, low-waste packaging, consolidated suppliers)

• Support other lab projects

What will you learn?

• Execute lean lab identified projects (lab rejuvenation, micro lab standard work, reduced testing, online testing program etc.) to achieve productivity gain

• Exposure to supporting process map and 3 prioritized Kaizen opportunities

• Working prototype of online tracking application and user guide
