Description

Starr Bus Charter & Tours is hiring a CDL Driving Instructor & Safety Trainer — $65K–$75K, Fairless Hills, PA. Train the next generation of professional motorcoach drivers at a 3rd-generation, family-owned company serving the Mid-Atlantic since 1947.

Starr Bus Charter & Tours has been family-owned since 1947. Our reputation for safe, reliable motorcoach service across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York comes down to one thing: our drivers. We’re looking for a CDL Instructor & Driver Safety Trainer to turn new hires into confident, professional motorcoach operators and keep our experienced drivers sharp.

You’ll lead classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training, run road evaluations and skills assessments, and coach drivers through refresher and corrective training when needed. If you’ve spent years behind the wheel and you’re the person newer drivers naturally turn to for advice, this is a chance to make that your full-time job. Teachers and corporate trainers who hold a CDL and have commercial driving experience are welcome too.

This is a full-time, year-round position, Monday through Friday [hours], with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends. You’ll report to [title].

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $65,000 – $75,000 annual salary

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • Company-paid life insurance

  • Paid vacation and holidays

  • Stable, full-time, year-round employment

  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel CDL training for newly hired drivers

  • Deliver training in accordance with Starr standards, FMCSA regulations, and industry best practices

  • Evaluate driver performance and provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback

  • Conduct road evaluations and skills assessments

  • Provide refresher, remedial, and safety-focused training for current drivers as needed

  • Reinforce defensive driving techniques, passenger safety practices, and customer service expectations

  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, ELDT, and state licensing requirements

  • Maintain accurate training records

  • Support driver development initiatives

  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement

WHO WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE

  • Takes pride in developing people and watching them grow

  • Leads by example, on and off the road

  • Believes safety is non-negotiable, no exceptions

  • Wants to leave the industry better than they found it

  • Comes from any background — motorcoach, trucking, school transportation, transit, or driver training — and brings that perspective to the team
