The RN Opportunity
Minden Medical Center is hiring a full-time RN for day shift to support safe, high-quality care for patients on our Med/Surg unit. In this role, you’ll provide direct bedside nursing care, complete focused assessments, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient status, and document clearly and timely. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians and the care team, prioritize multiple patient needs, respond to changes in condition, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.
Required qualifications/skills:
- Education requirements met prior to licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
- Current Louisiana State Board of Nursing license (BSN preferred)
- AHA BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and De-escalation recommended within 90 days
- One year Medical/Surgical experience preferred

A Typical Day Shift
Your day as an RN begins with a structured handoff and a quick scan of priorities for your Med/Surg patients. You’ll move between rooms and the nurses’ station, balancing planned care with the unexpected—answering call lights, updating families, and coordinating with ancillary departments. Throughout the shift, you’ll stay organized with charting, reassessments, and frequent check-ins, keeping an eye on comfort, mobility, and recovery progress. You’ll pause for team huddles, adjust your plan as patient needs change, and end the day with a clear report that sets the next shift up for success.
