Overview
The Coordinator 4, Research Res Support, provides professional support and guidance to faculty and staff, managing initiatives that foster university growth through large, complex multidisciplinary projects. Responsibilities include overseeing study start-up, recruitment, data collection, regulatory submissions, and compliance. The coordinator manages clinical trials, collaborates with various stakeholders, ensures data accuracy, facilitates communications, and participates in project design and implementation. Additionally, they train and coordinate the research team, handle patient interactions, and maintain adherence to all regulatory and institutional standards. The role requires close collaboration with researchers, administrative support, and participation in research meetings and manuscript preparation.
This position is Monday-Thursday onsite with Friday flexible work from home.
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Proven experience in a research or clinical setting, including conducting and supporting clinical trials. Proven experience with Patient recruitment and obtaining informed consent. Proven experience with IRB Submissions.
2. Ability to work on multiple projects in different stages of development with excellent attention to detail.
3. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of participants, team members, and external stakeholders.
4. Proficiency with electronic medical records, data abstraction, and clinical trial management systems.
5. Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. Knowledge of clinical research regulatory requirements and electronic medical record systems.
2. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biology or health sciences. Proven experience working in or supporting an oncology department.
3. Proven experience with data collection and management, including proficiency with tools like REDCap.
4. Clinical Coordinator Certification (SoCRA or equivalent) and Willingness to travel to clinical sites where the investigator sees patients and performs surgeries.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Compares protocols and sponsored projects to confirm consistency between funding proposals/awards and approved protocols. 2. Documents established congruency between funding proposals and approved protocols. 3. Facilitates and/or assists with resolution of any inconsistencies between funding proposals and approved protocols. 4. Serves as a liaison between the Grants and Contracts offices, investigators, and business managers to resolve congruency issues in a timely manner. 5. Attends meetings and presents issues when necessary that were identified during congruency review. 6. Serves as a resource and provides technical assistance to investigators and their staff. 7. Provides analytical and technical support related to establishing and recording protocol/grant congruency, as needed. 8. Monitors federal and state regulations for new guidance, updates, or policies. Maintains a high degree of knowledge on these requirements to determine actions and follow directives that may be required to ensure University compliance with congruency review and reporting requirements. 9. Develops, implements, and manages internal practices that ensure compliance with federal requirements. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.
