Investigates, troubleshoots, and recommends process changes required to ensure standardization of revenue cycle processes. Identifies and implements best practices and process improvements, and communicates changes to all impacted team members, including leaders.
- Develops and implements team member learning curricula using adult education methods, technology best practices, process improvement, change management, user experience and Electronic Health Record knowledge. Establishes educational design standards based on best practices and theory. Leads training programs and projects and supports educational initiatives to facilitate change. Conducts data analysis to support Rev Cycle Education materials, developing comprehensive curricula, guides, and multimedia content.
- Provides comprehensive education and training on revenue cycle processes to new and existing team members. Establishes key partnerships and fosters collaboration with stakeholder departments. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the revenue cycle. Delivers training proficiently through both virtual and in-person methods. Acts as a key stakeholder participant in training and organizational projects that contribute to organizational priorities and financial wellness.

Responsibilities
- Researches, designs and recommends process improvements to drive revenue cycle best practices. Works in conjunction with operational and IT stakeholders to identify, evaluate, analyze, and develop integrated solutions for the standardization of revenue cycle activities.
- Contributes to a single source repository of all processes and adheres to an agreed-upon methodology for drafting, revising, and approving workflows and procedures. Adheres to the agreed-upon methodology for the periodic review and certification of these processes. Oversees the workflow communication plan for impacted teammates.
- Partners with IT to review changes related to Epic Upgrades and other major projects to ensure system configuration supports best practice workflows across the Revenue Cycle and that impacted teammates are informed of and prepared for system changes.
- Collaborates with leaders, educators, and key stakeholders to plan, implement, and evaluate learning programs aimed at achieving organizational goals and initiatives. Consults with leaders, staff, and stakeholders to create education and development strategies that align with departmental, divisional, and system priorities and resources; ensures educational programs facilitate change, enhance performance, and achieve organizational objectives. Assists leaders and others in navigating complex situations to promote team member engagement in learning and development.
- Conducts training needs analysis and applies instructional design, learner experience and curriculum development principles to deliver effective learning programs. Utilizes best practices in educational design and theory to enhance learning effectiveness and improve team member performance. Researches, organizes information, writes, and oversees instructional materials (instructor and trainee guides, graphics, tutorials, references, tests, etc.). Structures course content, develops course outlines, and determines user pathways and feedback. Develops engaging and effective e-learning courses incorporating graphics, videos, simulations, and animations. Maintains and updates existing e-learning courses. Integrates visual, video, and audio technology into the course development process, ensuring optimal performance. Ensures consistency and compliance with organizational and departmental design standards, including branding and design guidelines, accessibility requirements, and imagery. Ensures the learning catalog is kept current.
- Establishes effective working relationships, to ensure collaboration across departments, divisions, and disciplines to optimize education and development processes. Connects people and facilitates information flow to support key initiatives involving education across the organization. Provides direct instruction (virtually or in person) to new and existing team members on a variety of revenue cycle topics (including hard and soft skills), with emphasis on the technologies and processes team members need to know to perform their jobs. Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques to meet educational objectives and regulatory compliance requirements that impact business functions. These techniques include role playing, simulation, team exercises, group discussions, videos, e-learning and lectures. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training activities and the progress of learners.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to resolve support issues. Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting user issues, ensuring timely and effective communication with both internal and external partners. This includes taking ownership of resolution accountability, following up to ensure issues are resolved satisfactorily, and demonstrating the ability to convey technical information to end users in an accessible and clear manner. Maintains a high level of customer service throughout the support process.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Epic Prelude accreditation or certification issued by Epic., or
- Epic Referrals and Authorizations accreditation or certification issued by Epic, or
- Epic HIM Release of Information accreditation or certification issued by Epic, or
- Epic HIM Hospital Coding accreditation or certification issued by Epic, or
- Epic HIM Coding Operations accreditation or certification issued by Epic, or
- Epic HIM Gallery accreditation or certification issued by Epic, or
- Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Administration including Single Billing Office accreditation or certification issued by Epic
- Revenue cycle knowledge with an emphasis on the area of focus for the given opening.
- High level of expertise in creating, organizing, maintaining and implementing improvements to support Revenue Cycle operations.
- Effective critical thinking, reflective reasoning, creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent critical inquiry, assessment and documentation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills and experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience in instructional design or training program design, including audience analysis, design, purpose strategies and content strategies.

- Able to provide educational offerings that ensure translation of teachings into actions. Proficiency translating learning outcomes into virtual deliverables. Ability to clearly articulate ideas, concepts and visions for learning projects.

- Ability to effectively present conclusions and recommendations in front of groups.

- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, One Note, One Drive, Lists, and Planner), or similar products. Ability to learn and proficiently use other applications.
- Knowledge of web technologies, instructional design software and collaboration tools/related web tools. Proficiency using instructional graphics applications for content development.
- Proficiency in Epic's UserWeb tools including NOVA and Galaxy.
- Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team.
