Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per year
  • Health Coverage: Company-paid Health, Dental, and Vision insurance

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation indemnity claims from initial reporting through closure.
  • Investigate claims and gather necessary documentation to determine compensability.
  • Coordinate with medical providers, legal counsel, employers, and injured workers throughout the claims process.
  • Monitor claim reserves, payments, and ongoing claim activity to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle litigated files and collaborate with defense counsel as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to California workers' compensation laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Provide claim status updates and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in California workers' compensation claims handling.
  • Self-Insurance Plans (SIP) certification is a significant advantage but not required; must obtain within 6 months of employment if not already certified.
  • Experience working with public entities or school districts is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage claims through litigation and closure.
  • Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation regulations and claims practices.
  • Experience with self-insured or third-party administrator (TPA) environments is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a diverse caseload and prioritize competing deadlines.
