We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse leader to join our Mother Baby Unit as a Night Clinical Supervisor, providing clinical leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on support to our team during overnight hours.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Mother Baby, Postpartum, Women's Health, Labor & Delivery, or NICU nurse who is ready to step into a leadership role while continuing to make a direct impact on patient care.

What You'll Do

As the Night Clinical Supervisor, you will serve as a clinical and operational resource for staff, patients, and providers while helping ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the Mother Baby unit.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate patient placement and staff assignments to support optimal patient care and unit workflow.
• Provide clinical guidance and assistance to nursing staff during complex patient situations.
• Respond to changes in patient conditions and help direct clinical interventions.
• Partner with providers, department leaders, patients, and family members to ensure exceptional patient experiences.
• Support onboarding, orientation, education, and professional development of nursing staff.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts.
• Supervise daily clinical operations and assist with staffing and resource management.
• Collaborate with leadership regarding scheduling, attendance, productivity, and budget management.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and oversee equipment and unit readiness.
• Function as a staff RN when needed based on patient census and acuity.
• Promote Mercy's mission, values, and service standards in every interaction.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
• Current RN license in Missouri or compact state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in direct patient care

Preferred

• Previous charge nurse, supervisor, or leadership experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience in Mother Baby, Postpartum, Women's Services, Labor & Delivery, NICU, or related specialties

Certifications

Additional certifications may be required based on unit needs, including:

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• ACLS
• PALS
• S.T.A.B.L.E.
• Other unit-specific certifications

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and perform frequent patient care activities
