Senior TypeScript Engineer (Node.js, AWS Serverless), FinTech
Location: London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh or Bristol (flexible hybrid)
Rate: £600 per day. Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months

The role
We're looking for a senior contract engineer to work on a financial platform where correctness actually matters. You'll design, build, and run TypeScript and Node.js services on AWS serverless infrastructure. You'll work in a small, cross-functional team alongside product, operations, and customer-facing colleagues, and you'll be the person people go to when they're stuck. This is a build-and-run environment: if you build it, you own it in production.
What you'll do day to day
- Design, build, and operate services within your domain, from architecture through to delivery
- Take accountability for the SLAs of what you ship, and keep improving it
- Write and maintain useful documentation for your services
- Mentor and guide other engineers
- Explain how the system works to non-technical colleagues, without making them feel daft for asking
- Judge when "good enough for now" is the right call, and when it isn't
- Work openly with product and operations, and challenge ideas constructively
