Systems Engineer

We’re looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Devices Systems team based in Sydney and play a key role in the development of our next generation of products.

As a member of the team, you’ll support development of our next generation of devices, working as part of a team to help guide products from concept through to verification and submission, ensuring they deliver safe, effective, and high-quality outcomes for patients around the world.

What You'll Do

• Translate user, clinical, business, and regulatory needs into system requirements, risk assessments, and technical solutions

• Create, maintain, and support the traceability of requirements within a requirements management tool. 

• Collaborate closely with software, algorithm, electronics, mechanical, verification, and clinical teams to develop integrated system solutions

• Evaluate technical design options and trade-offs, escalating recommendations to senior engineers when needed. 

• Work across engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues and support cross-functional discussions. 

• Support demonstration of product performance through evidence-based verification and validation activities

• Participate in system risk management, including risk analyses and reviews. 

• Follow established Systems Engineering processes, suggest improvements, and maintain safe working practices.  

What You Bring

• A Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• A foundational understanding of engineering principles and systems thinking.

• A methodical and systematic approach to analysing technical problems.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to contribute effectively within cross-functional teams.

• A willingness to learn about medical device regulations, standards, and quality systems.

• An keen interest in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

• Experience with engineering development tools such as JIRA, Jama, Confluence, or similar platforms
