Tax Manager – Hybrid Role| Public Accounting Firm

Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: Full-time

About the Firm:

A Denver public accounting firm is looking for a Tax Manager who wants more than a title change. This person will have the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships and tax engagements, work through complex tax matters, and have a direct impact on the quality of work being delivered. The role is hands-on, with a mix of technical tax work, client interaction, review, and team support.

Where You'll Spend Your Time

Take the lead on tax engagements and keep projects moving from start to finish

Prepare and review federal and state returns for individuals and business entities

Work with clients on tax planning, compliance, and advisory needs

Dig into complex tax questions and research potential solutions

Review work prepared by staff and provide direction when adjustments are needed

Stay ahead of deadlines, budgets, and client deliverables

Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients

Identify tax-saving and planning opportunities throughout the year

Partner with firm leadership on more complex client matters

Help coach and develop less-experienced members of the tax team

What Would Make Someone a Good Fit

5+ years of public accounting tax experience

Previous Tax Manager experience, or a Senior Tax professional ready to step into management

EA/CPA preferred

Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Strong experience with individual and business tax compliance

Comfortable handling tax planning, research, and advisory work

Able to communicate directly and confidently with clients

Organized enough to manage multiple engagements without constant oversight

Strong technical judgment and attention to detail
