The Compliance Paralegal supports Snap Finance’s Legal and Compliance functions across licensing, marketing compliance, litigation, regulatory filings, and related operational activities. This role helps coordinate documentation, track deadlines and obligations, maintain organized records, support regulatory and litigation matters, and assist with day-to-day compliance reviews and processes. The position partners closely with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Product, Sales, and other business teams to help the organization meet its regulatory and legal obligations.
How you'll make an impact:
- Support licensing, registration, renewal, and regulatory filing activities.
- Maintain accurate licensing records, calendars, supporting documentation, and status reporting.
- Assist with marketing compliance activities, including review coordination, documentation, tracking, and maintenance of approved materials and compliance records.
- Support litigation matters through document collection, matter organization, deadline tracking, internal coordination, and preparation of supporting materials for attorney review.
- Research regulatory and licensing requirements and support responses to regulators, agencies, bank partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Product, Sales, and other business teams to gather information and resolve compliance, licensing, and litigation-related requests.
- Support audits, examinations, regulatory inquiries, documentation requests, issue remediation, and process improvements.
- Monitor deadlines and regulatory developments that may affect licensing or other compliance obligations.
- Maintain organized records, trackers, and supporting evidence across assigned workstreams.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in paralegal work, legal operations, regulatory compliance, licensing, or a related function.
- Strong organization, documentation, research, and deadline-management skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring obligations accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and identify when an issue should be escalated to Legal or Compliance leadership.
- Ability to work effectively with confidential, sensitive, and privileged information.
- Comfort working across multiple workstreams, including licensing, marketing compliance, and litigation support.
What would make you stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or relevant equivalent experience.
- Experience in consumer finance, fintech, lending, lease-to-own, banking, or another regulated financial-services environment.
- Experience supporting state licensing, regulatory filings, renewals, or examinations.
- Experience supporting litigation, investigations, discovery, or legal matter management.
- Experience with marketing or advertising compliance in a regulated industry.
- Familiarity with regulatory portals, entity-management systems, compliance-management systems, or matter-management tools.
- Paralegal, compliance, or licensing-related certification.
