Heartline Staffing is recruiting an experienced Senior Accountant for a full-time, fully on-site opportunity in Chicago, Illinois.

This is a hands-on accounting role within a manufacturing environment. The Senior Accountant will support the complete accounting cycle, including financial reporting, general ledger activity, month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.

The ideal candidate has spent the majority of their accounting career within manufacturing companies and is comfortable personally executing accounting functions in a small, lean accounting department.

FINANCIAL REPORTING & MONTH-END CLOSE
• Assist with preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement preparation.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and month-end close.
• Review, post, and adjust general ledger entries as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

GENERAL LEDGER & RECONCILIATIONS
• Maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Complete bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Research and resolve discrepancies.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
• Enter vendor payables using a three-way matching process.
• Review account balances and transactions.
• Identify and resolve vendor discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor account information.
• Process weekly check runs.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
• Post cash receipts.
• Post electronic and paper checks to customer accounts.
• Reconcile credit card transactions.
• Identify and resolve customer discrepancies.
• Contact customers regarding past-due balances.

BUDGETING, FORECASTING & AUDIT SUPPORT
• Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze variances between forecasted and actual results.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Gather documentation and respond to auditor requests.

ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS
• Use accounting software and ERP systems to manage financial data and accounting workflows.
• MAS 90 / SAGE 100 experience is relevant to the environment.
• Crystal Reports experience is helpful.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Fully on-site in Chicago, IL 60632
• No remote or off-site work option
• Reports directly to the CFO
• Individual contributor role with no direct reports

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS
• Extensive hands-on accounting experience consistent with approximately 5-10 years REQUIRED
• Career experience predominantly within manufacturing companies REQUIRED
• Full-cycle accounting experience REQUIRED
• General ledger and month-end close experience REQUIRED
• Financial reporting experience REQUIRED
• General ledger and bank reconciliation experience REQUIRED
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable experience REQUIRED
• Budgeting and forecasting experience REQUIRED
• Audit-support experience REQUIRED
• Hands-on accounting software and ERP experience REQUIRED
• Experience working within a small or lean accounting environment REQUIRED
• Ability to independently manage the complete accounting cycle REQUIRED
• Ability to work fully on-site in Chicago, IL 60632 REQUIRED
• Candidate should be within approximately a 45-minute commute of the worksite REQUIRED
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and ability to handle confidential information REQUIRED

PREFERRED
• MAS 90 / SAGE 100 experience
• Crystal Reports experience
• Experience with manufacturing companies below approximately $25-$30 million in size
• Experience in accounting departments with fewer than three employees
• At least one employment tenure of 3-5+ years; multiple longer tenures preferred
