Are you ready to be part of a dynamic and ambitious team at a growing ASX-listed gold house? At Genesis, we're dedicated to realising our vision of becoming The Trusted Australian Gold Miner, delivering high-quality, progressive operations with a target of +500koz annually. Genesis offers unparalleled opportunities for growth and innovation in the prolific Leonora and Laverton region of Western Australia.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Manager Land to ensure Genesis’ land and tenure interests remain secure, compliant and in good standing, while enabling exploration, project development, and mining operations to progress.
This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to provide strategic and commercially focussed advice on land, tenure, and land access matters with significant exposure to complex transactions, project development, and regulatory requirements.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Land & External Relations, you will be responsible for leading the effective management of the Company’s land and tenement portfolio across Western Australia. This includes securing and maintaining land access, ensuring full compliance with applicable legislation, and upholding all regulatory obligations.
The role is critical to maintaining the Company’s land and tenure in good standing, supporting operational continuity, and enabling future growth through proactive, compliant, and strategic land management.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, mentoring and developing a Land team and managing the Land function’s structure, resourcing and budget.
- Managing Genesis’ mining and exploration tenure portfolio, ensuring statutory obligations, reporting requirements and compliance commitments are effectively managed.
- Overseeing land access requirements across exploration, project development and mining operations, including negotiations and agreement management.
- Providing strategic advice on land and tenure risks, constraints and opportunities that may impact the Company’s operational and development plans.
- Managing land and tenure agreements, registers and governance systems to ensure accurate and reliable information is maintained.
- Managing Wardens Court matters and other statutory and regulatory processes.
- Working closely with Legal on land-related agreements, contractual matters and royalty obligations.
- Monitoring changes to Western Australian legislation and policy and translating these into practical advice for the business.
- Supporting due diligence for acquisitions, mergers and divestments, identifying key land and tenure risks, obligations and opportunities.
- Developing and implementing integration plans for newly acquired land and tenure portfolios.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with DMPE, DPLH and other government departments and regulators.
- Developing forward-looking land and tenure strategies aligned with Genesis’ exploration, development and operational pipeline.
- Driving continuous improvement across land systems, data, governance, compliance and risk management.
About You
You are an experienced Land and Tenure professional who can operate confidently at both a strategic and operational level. You understand the importance of getting the detail right while also seeing the bigger picture – supporting responsible development, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and enabling our operations to perform.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in land and tenure management within the Western Australian mining or resources sector.
- Strong knowledge of the Western Australian mining and land tenure regulatory framework, including relevant legislation, regulations and statutory processes.
- Strong understanding of the legal and commercial considerations associated with land and tenure management, with experience working closely with Legal teams and external legal advisers.
- Experience identifying and managing legal, regulatory, commercial and operational risks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience leading teams, managing budgets and delivering multiple priorities.
- Experience with GIS systems is preferable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory and legal matters into clear, commercially practical advice.
- A tertiary qualification in Law, Property, Planning, Land Management, Geoscience or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience is preferable.
- A current C Class Driver's Licence.

This is an opportunity to join Genesis at an important stage of growth and play a key role in ensuring our land and tenure portfolio is well managed, compliant and positioned to support the Company’s long-term success.
You will be part of a collaborative Land & External Relations team and work directly with senior leaders across the business, providing advice on matters that have a direct impact on Genesis' exploration, development and operational activities.
