HN449 - Traveling Housekeeper – NYC and Upstate

Overview

A distinguished private family with residences in NYC and Upstate NY, is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and discreet Traveling Housekeeper to provide hands-on household, property, and travel support.

Primary locations for the position will be between NYC and Upstate NY. During the school year, the role will primarily support the Upstate residence, with travel to the property approximately Friday through Monday/Tuesday.

 

This is a hands-on, varied role encompassing housekeeping, property preparation, travel support, household logistics, vendor coordination, and event support. When not traveling, the individual will perform project-based work and provide backup to the NYC House Manager and EA as needed.

Responsibilities

1. General• Provide discreet, hands-on household, housekeeping, and lifestyle support.• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, presentation, and service.• Manage household supplies, inventory, groceries, errands, and deliveries.• Coordinate vendors, temporary staff, and household services.• Support events, holidays, décor, and special projects.• Provide backup to the NYC House Manager and EA.• Work proactively, independently, and calmly under pressure.

2. New York City Residence• Provide backup household and housekeeping support to the House Manager and EA.• Assist with errands, sourcing, deliveries, inventory, and household logistics.• Coordinate vendors and local services, including dry cleaning.• Assist with events, holidays, entertaining, and special projects.• Provide additional coverage and support as needed.

3. Upstate Property• Prepare, clean, stock, and reset the home before and after family visits.• Manage household, grocery, linen, and event inventories.• Coordinate rental-home setup, vendors, and onsite housekeepers.• Oversee deliveries, services, and property-related logistics.• Support family stays, holidays, and events.• Troubleshoot issues and ensure the property is maintained to a high standard.• Primarily support the Upstate residence Friday–Monday/Tuesday during the school year.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of private-household, luxury hospitality, or comparable high-service experience.• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.• Strong housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe, and household management skills.• Experience with high-end homes, furnishings, fabrics, and finishes.• Comfortable coordinating vendors, temporary staff, and household services.• Proactive, discreet, flexible, reliable, and calm under pressure.• Willing and able to travel extensively, including domestic and international destinations.• Comfortable working a flexible schedule in both NYC and Upstate environments.• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Salary and Benefits

• $45-60/hour

• You will accrue sick leave at the rate of 1 hour of paid sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked. You may accrue up to a maximum of forty (40) hours of paid sick leave annually
• If eligible for the Company’s 401k plan, the Company currently offers one hundred percent (100%) matching contribution up to four percent (4%) of your Base Salary (excluding any bonus amounts that may be awarded).
