Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Senior Set ups Engineer.

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

## What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for the new products introduction via set ups, for electromechanical and electronics product lines, analyze new product requirements vs actual products specifications, if new set ups has new or revised product specifications, develop a validation plan (DVP&R) to guarantee product integrity, validate all new customer, marketing and sales new product changes ideas. Responsible to lead the weekly meetings for the engineering changes orders (ECO) process.

Subject matter expert for the changes managements control system (Enovia and SAP)

Ensures new business opportunities (NBOs) are successfully engineered and documented such that they move quickly to the manufacturing floor via setups. Strong focus on new Buy-Sell opportunities follow up / successful launch, and on product compliance to Hazardous Material reduction initiatives (i.e., RoHS, WEEE, etc). Follows the production cycle and works with marketing, development, tooling and manufacturing to ensure that the product meets the needs of customer and meets the product specifications.

Provide support on technical inquiries coming from production line and external/internal suppliers in order to help achieve production plan and OTD targets. As well as perform root cause analysis of product line issues/inquiries during release stages of the new set-ups.

## ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Release new setups as requested by Marketing/Sales thru the official request process; coordinating all actions are covered prior to the release (Enovia drawings, SAP configuration, Test Equipment updates, import/export classification, etc.)

B. Provide product line support related to new set ups introduction

C. Coordinate and follow up specifically on new Buy-Sell opportunities and definition of requirements for implementation

D. Lead “Cost Out” activities from an engineering and material perspective

E. Evaluate product material to ensure compliance with Hazardous Material reduction initiatives with coordination from Product Stewardship team

F. Work with internal and external customers to design and develop solutions to meet customer’s needs

G. Develop comprehensive tests to validate new product designs if required

H. Ensure NBOs are designed, engineered and entered into the database drawing system

I. Research the use of new materials that provide boost in technology and/or a significant cost improvement

J. Conduct DFMEA on all new development projects to gage the potential impact of the changes

K. Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key customers and vendors

L. Conduct testing of all new products in accordance with VC standards and customer requirements

M. Investigate and analyze new materials and their appropriate use within our product line

N. Provide support to outside suppliers (part substitutions, test strategies, create and maintain documentation for manufacturing)

O. Component selection and validation

P. Participation as the specialist for electronics and associated components in core R&D team.

Q. RFE support to NPI department.

R. Back-up support on technical inquiries found during production line processes and requested by suppliers/customers.

S. Plan, coordinate, and execute the work required for the launch of new projects.

T. Monitor processes and ensure compliance with established deadlines.

U. Coordinate with the production team to ensure everything is ready for the launch.

V. Identify and resolve potential issues that may arise during the launch.

W. Develop, lead, and promote a culture in the organization that supports the expected results in the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental system (MESH).

X. Maintain waste segregation culture.

Y. Separate hazardous waste from the normal trash

Z. Place waste according to the assigned containers.

AA. Maintain your area clean and free of contaminants.

BB. Not waste of water or electricity.

CC. Report any activity that can put in risk my safety and environment.

DD. Identify and give adequate disposition to all chemical products, which can contaminate the environment.

EE. Act/Report immediately any chemical discharge case.

FF. Ensure the rights containers for disposition of hazardous waste (identifying containers and containers to prevent discharge)

## Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Intermediate to Advanced English required. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, participate in technical discussions, troubleshoot issues, and manage professional email communication.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to design using AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of electronics-based devices and the processes required to test and validate their functionality
  • Knowledge in the product life cycle flow through the manufacturing facility and MRP setup
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, with electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques a plus
  • Familiarity of commercial vehicle markets and the environmental requirements a plus
