  • Analyze customer requirements and develop system concepts, architectures, and preliminary designs.
  • Support site assessments, equipment selection, technical specifications, cost estimation, and project quotations.
  • Prepare technical scopes of work and proposal documentation.
  • Identify technical risks, assumptions, project constraints, and opportunities during the bidding process.
  • Engage suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to obtain technical information, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in customer technical discussions and presentations.

Medium & High Voltage Engineering Expertise

  • Serve as the internal technical authority for land-based electrical power systems.
  • Provide expertise in MV/HV switchgear, switchboards, transformers, protection and control systems, and power distribution.
  • Support the integration of generators, distributed generation, microgrids, energy storage, and power conversion systems.
  • Provide technical guidance on utility interconnection, electrical balance of plant, grounding, and protection philosophies.
  • Review power-system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash assessments.
  • Guide engineering teams in technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead Electrical Engineering & Project Execution

  • Establish electrical system architecture, design philosophies, and engineering requirements for awarded projects.
  • Lead electrical engineering activities from conceptual design through detailed engineering.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and manage technical interfaces with customers, utilities, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve electrical designs, technical calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
  • Lead technical design reviews and resolve engineering challenges during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Support factory acceptance testing, site installation, commissioning, and field implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, utility requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Maintain technical ownership from proposal development through successful project commissioning.

Supply Chain & Technology Development

  • Maintain knowledge of MV/HV equipment manufacturers, technologies, market trends, and supply-chain conditions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers and alternative equipment technologies.
  • Assess equipment based on technical performance, cost, availability, reliability, and lifecycle support.
  • Build relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and technical partners.
  • Evaluate equipment lead times and supply-chain constraints during project planning.
  • Develop preferred equipment platforms and standardized power-system solutions to improve competitiveness and delivery efficiency.

Technical Leadership & Capability Building

  • Establish engineering practices, technical standards, design tools, and reusable system architectures.
  • Identify future engineering resource requirements and support recruitment of technical specialists.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to building a high-performing land-based power and microgrid engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and lessons learned from completed projects.
  • Collaborate across Business Development, Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Service teams.
  • Help expand AKA's technical capabilities and support the long-term growth of its land-based power business.
