The Project Architect is responsible for leading architectural planning, technical design development, code compliance, and building systems integration across multi-disciplinary design projects. This role serves as the architectural subject matter expert and works closely with engineering teams, manufacturing teams, consultants, project delivery teams, and clients to translate customer requirements into coordinated, code-compliant, constructable, and repeatable design solutions.
The Project Architect supports projects from early program development and conceptual planning through schematic design, construction documentation, bid package development, permitting support, submittal review, field observation, and construction administration. The role requires strong technical knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, building systems, zoning, site planning, specifications, documentation standards, cost awareness, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Beyond individual project delivery, this position plays a key role in developing scalable architectural solutions, standardized design approaches, reusable details, and lessons learned that improve speed-to-market, constructability, manufacturing integration, schedule certainty, and program scalability.
The Project Architect is expected to operate as a trusted client liaison and internal technical leader, with the ability to listen carefully, capture client needs, translate requirements into actionable design direction, and communicate effectively with internal teams, external consultants, authorities having jurisdiction, and client stakeholders.
