Copywriter

smartdept. is searching for a Copywriter for a growth and transformation consultancy serving ecommerce, retail, and DTC brands. This is a fully remote, ongoing freelance contract opportunity.

You'll write conversion-focused copy for ads, email, and web, working from briefs set by senior strategists.

What You'll Do:

• Write paid social and search ad copy, including multiple versions for testing
• Write product descriptions and ecommerce site copy
• Write email and SMS campaigns
• Write landing page copy alongside UX and CRO teammates
• Adapt to each brand's voice and guidelines
• Turn around edits quickly based on performance and feedback

What You'll Need:

• Hands-on copywriting experience for ecommerce, retail, or DTC brands
• Experience writing ad copy for Meta and Google
• Ability to work fast across a high volume of short-form copy
• Comfort using AI tools to draft, then editing to a polished final
• A portfolio or writing samples showing conversion-focused work
• Clear, reliable communication

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• SEO writing
• Email platforms like Klaviyo
• Experience with A/B testing copy
• Video scripts and social captions
