Building Estimator – Job Description

About the Role

DC Solutions is looking for an experienced Building Estimator to join our team in NW11. This

is primarily an office-based role, with occasional site visits when required.

The role will focus on accurate estimating, costing and job profitability, rather than

procurement or competitive tendering.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for building and refurbishment works.

Review drawings, scopes and specifications and calculate labour and material costs.

Price subcontractor and specialist works where required.

Calculate margins, mark-ups and overall job costs.

Price variations and additional works.

Monitor estimated vs actual costs and support accounts with job costing.

Liaise with site teams, foremen and management to clarify requirements.

Attend occasional site visits to assess works or variations.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Building/Construction Estimator or QS.

Strong knowledge of construction, refurbishment and building costs.

Excellent understanding of labour, materials and subcontractor pricing.

Strong Excel and numerical skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organisation.

Practical construction knowledge is highly desirable.

Full UK driving licence advantageous.
