Description

Account Executive (Music)

Who We Are

Vermillio believes humanity should thrive in the era of AI. That's why we're building essential guardrails for the generative internet — starting with TraceID, our AI protection and licensing technology.

Vermillio is the leader in AI guardrails for protection and licensing. Vermillio brings together years of combined AI expertise, with its co-founders each building in AI for more than 15 years. The company is well funded and is already working with world-class IP from partners such as Sony and Talent Agency WME.

Our technology creates a secure ethical environment for all builders, makers and creators. Our attribution technology ensures proper credit and compensation reach rightful owners, confirming that AI developers have consent and access to high quality ingredients. TraceID puts everyone in control of what they own, what they build with, and what they create. With our platform TraceID, talent and IP holders can take advantage of the benefits of Generative AI in a safe and secure environment while understanding where and how their valuable data is being used.

The Role

Vermillio is looking for an experienced sales professional to lead new business across music and talent. You'll own the full sales cycle for TraceID Protection and Guardrails with record labels, music publishers, artist management firms, agencies, and high-profile artists and estates. Voice clones, AI-generated tracks, deepfakes, and unauthorized training are already hitting the music and entertainment industries — and you'll lead conversations about how TraceID protects their artists' likeness and catalogs while opening up new, consented licensing revenue.

This is a chance to work alongside partners like Sony Music and WME and to shape how the world's most recognizable talent and IP engage with generative AI. Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of enterprise or partnership sales experience in music, entertainment, or talent representation, and brings trusted relationships with decision-makers across the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle for music accounts — prospecting, discovery, executive presentations, proposals, contract negotiation, and close — for TraceID Protection and Licensing.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of record labels, music publishers, distributors, artist management firms, talent agencies, estates, and individual high-profile talent.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder deals involving business affairs, legal, A&R, digital, and executive leadership; structure roster-level and catalog-level agreements.
  • Expand existing strategic relationships (e.g., label and agency partners) into additional rosters, divisions, and territories.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue and new-logo targets; maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline in our CRM.
  • Partner with Customer Success on onboarding, renewals, and account expansion for signed talent and IP holders.
  • Bring industry insight back to Product and Marketing — trends in AI music, voice cloning, NIL, and rights management.
  • Represent Vermillio at music and entertainment industry events and conferences (e.g., MIDEM, SXSW, NAMM, Grammy-week events).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, music business, entertainment, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of enterprise sales, business development, or partnerships experience in music, entertainment, or talent representation (labels, publishers, agencies, management, or music/entertainment tech).
  • Proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders. An established network of decision-makers at labels, publishers, agencies, and management companies.
  • Working understanding of music rights (master and publishing), talent representation, and how artists and talent are licensed and monetized.
  • Strong executive presence, presentation, and negotiation skills; comfortable working through contract terms with business affairs and legal teams.
  • Proficiency with a CRM (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce) and disciplined pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident with high-profile clients and internal leadership.
  • Sound judgment handling sensitive and confidential client information with discretion.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with right of publicity / NIL, copyright, DMCA takedowns, and deepfake or voice-clone enforcement.
  •  Experience selling SaaS, rights-management, anti-piracy, or brand-protection solutions.
  • Understanding of generative AI and the emerging AI licensing landscape.

What You'll Get

  • Day-to-day exposure to the world's top talent and IP
  • Working with a very seasoned and world-class AI and Machine Learning team
  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Equity in a tech company in the most exciting, fastest growing sector
  • Flexible spending account, with company contribution
  • Health, dental and vision insurance
  • 401k
  • Opportunity for remote work

What to Expect

This is a collaborative role with high ownership and low bureaucracy. You'll sit on the Sales team and report directly to the Chief Business Officer. The work is meaningful: we're helping musicians, artists and IP owners protect their likeness and their work in the generative AI era — and share in the value it creates.
