The ideal candidate combines strong field operations experience with the leadership presence to guide a team through dynamic, time-sensitive deployments.

Job Description:

Shift Leadership & Schedule Compliance

  • Lead and oversee a team of mobile operators, ensuring all deployments are completed on schedule and to standard.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the shift, making real-time decisions in the absence of daytime management.
  • Monitor shift performance and proactively address coverage gaps, call-offs, or schedule changes to prevent missed deployments.
  • Ensure all team members follow company procedures, safety policies, and applicable laws throughout the shift.

Mobile Operations & Equipment Deployment

  • Operate and deploy mobile enforcement equipment (trailers, vehicles, and associated systems) at designated sites across Maryland.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up, configured, and functioning before and during each deployment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and coordinate resolution with maintenance or on-call technicians as needed.
  • Safely transport trailers and vehicles between deployment sites and shop locations in Maryland.

Team Support & Development

  • Provide hands-on guidance and on-the-job training to mobile operators during the shift.
  • Mentor less experienced team members on deployment procedures, equipment handling, and safety best practices.
  • Provide coverage support as needed, stepping in directly on deployments when short-staffed.
  • Offer timely feedback to team members and escalate performance concerns to the Field Operations Manager.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate shift logs, deployment records, and equipment status updates using tracking software.
  • Report shift outcomes, incidents, and equipment issues to other management at shift handoff.
  • Track any schedule deviations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.

Vehicle & Fleet Readiness

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to flag and schedule repairs for any fleet issues identified during the shift.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with all Maryland traffic laws and company driving policies.
  • Support transportation of trailers and vehicles between Maryland locations as operationally required.

Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain clear communication with other shift management, and mobile operators throughout the shift.
  • Escalate critical issues (equipment failures, safety concerns, staffing emergencies) promptly to the appropriate contact.
  • Coordinate with vendors or on-call resources as needed to resolve field issues during working hours.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in field operations, mobile operations, or a related role.
  • Prior experience in a lead, supervisory, or team lead capacity.
  • Valid Maryland driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate vehicles towing trailers.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment and perform basic troubleshooting in the field.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage a team under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable leading peers during overnight shifts.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with equipment deployment.
  • Proficient in using scheduling, tracking, and reporting software or mobile apps.
  • Availability to work consistent shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to travel across Maryland as operationally required.

  • Experience in automated traffic enforcement, public safety technology, or similar field service environments.
  • Familiarity with trailer operations, fleet management, or DOT regulations.
