Responsibilities are basic and routine in nature.  This may include performing administrative duties in an office, assisting in a research laboratory, aid faculty/staff in supporting academic programs or patient care.  Duties will be clear and direct.  The Student Assistant will require excellent customer service and strong organizational skills and will represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values. 

Scope of Position 

The Revenue Cycle for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing patient demographic and insurance information efficiently and accurately. The primary responsibility of student assistants is to assist patients in finding their way around the medical center, escorting them to destinations and some light clerical work. The Registration Department is responsible for collecting and distributing patient medical information on a daily basis to ensure it is available prior to a patient’s arrival at clinical treatment areas.

Position Summary

The Student Administrative Assistant will greet patients on arrival, manage patient flow and queuing, escort patients to treatment locations, and provide administrative/ office support to the department.  This position is mobile and involves walking/standing throughout the shift.
