Job Summary:
The adult education & literacy (AEL) professional development coordinator will act as a single point of contact to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and state Professional Development (PD) Center(s) and other discretionary innovation projects, as applicable, and effectively lead professional development efforts for this program. This position will report to the AEL director.**This position is 100% grant-funded. Therefore, continuation of the position will be contingent upon continued external funding.**
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the state’s PD Center(s) and TWC staff as necessary to ensure that all professional development needs are met.
- Assist with training logistics and administration, including organizing materials, scheduling locations, and maintaining attendance records.
- Plan, implement, and document professional development per the AEL grant to ensure staff meets the requirements and are trained to support program performance and compliance.
- Develop a strategic professional development plan for continuous improvement in cooperation with the state PD Center(s).
- Submit contextualized instruction or specialized curriculum and other replicable resources as directed by the TWC.
- Respond to and carry out any technical assistance plans as director by the TWC.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in higher education.
Preferred
Familiarity with post-secondary curriculum maintenance.
