Description
Forsyth County's General Services Department is seeking a motived individual for an open Fleet Attendant position. The Fleet Attendant will facilitate and assist with daily tasks at the Automotive Services garage.
This position will be based in an automotive garage setting but will be moving constantly and in some cases will be working outside.
Must have a valid N.C. driver's license, a CDL license is preferred. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Greet customers dropping off/picking up vehicles from Fleet & coordinate next steps for the customer's needs. Includes taking vehicle to appropriate bay for service, retrieving vehicle from parking for the customer, coordinate getting the customer a loaner vehicle. Provide updates to customers who opt to wait until repairs are complete.
Oversee movement of vehicles from service bays to parking areas when repairs at direction of automotive technicians' and supervisors' direction.
Assist with delivery and pick-up vehicles to/from third party vendors for repairs.
Take vehicles to local car washes to ensure neat appearance of the County's fleet, Includes assessing motor pool vehicle cleanliness.
Assist customers with misc. needs such as changing wiper blades, assisting with the EV charging stations, or assisting with the onsite fuel pumps.
Ensure a neat and organized garage service lane, outdoor parking, and staging area for vehicles. Includes ensuring the lane is free of hazards, moving delivered supplies/materials from garage to storage areas, etc.
Monitor the onsite fuel pump gasoline and diesel tanks for adequate fuel levels. Alert the Office Assistant when fuel orders need to be placed for delivery, to maintain adequate fuel volumes at onsite pumps.
·May be requested to perform light duty maintenance, dependent on skills.
Performs related work as required.
Maintaining a specific license such as a driver's license in good standing, without a lapse or loss of a privilege to drive in compliance with North Carolina law, and in compliance with applicable DOT standards for commercial motor vehicle drivers if required to perform the duties assigned to the position.

Basic computer literacy required to operate a computer and programs
Ability to independently adhere to a time schedule.
