Description

Boulder County Community Services Department is seeking to hire an Accounting Clerk II. The Accounting Clerk II is the journey level classification in the Accounting Clerk series. The Accounting Clerk II performs moderately complex clerical accounting duties, requiring a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and public agency accounting procedures. Requires a moderate degree of independent judgment.
This is a full-time, grant funded benefited position. This position will work Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position has an option to work remotely or out of 3482 Broadway, Boulder Colorado 80306. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $52,008.00 - $68,628.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:
- Phone Screening: Week of July 27th
- First Round Interviews: Week of August 3rd
- Second Round Interviews: Week of August 3rd
- Reference Check: Week of August 3rd
New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month (Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify). - Enters accounting data into the county's computerized accounting system
- Maintains accounting records, statements of accounts, summaries and reports
- Prepares, review, and process supplier invoices for payments, provides support, reviews and processes travel requests, enters journal entries into financial system and other accounting transactions
- Maintains efficient filing systems
- Keeps AP processes up to date.
- Compiles and tabulates data and balances accounting records for GED vouchers, gas cards, bus passes and phone usage
- Reviews, verifies and corrects computer system accounting information
- Processes workforce client payroll, maintains client payroll records, time sheets, verifies and prepares hours and wages upload, generates personnel action notifications, and submits client payroll.
- Trains and gives general direction to other employees.
- Aids other employees regarding accounting issues, policies, and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
- Registers new suppliers and updates information as needed.
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of
- A high school diploma or equivalent
AND
- Two years of experience in clerical accounting or bookkeeping
Additional related education may count towards required experience.
