Bookings Clerk

Location: Cobalt TC, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Hours: 37.5 weekly hours

Shift Pattens: Varied depending on business needs from 9-5 / 10-6 / 8-4 Monday – Friday with occasional Saturday cover.

The role:

We currently have a great opportunity for a Bookings Clerk to join our team at Cobalt TC, Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Booking Clerk role can offer you variety and challenges, representing Cobalt Hospital as a point of contact with our patients. Our booking team liaise with patients to book their procedures and provide key information to enable them to attend.

Key responsibilities:

  • Handling inbound calls

  • Booking, cancelling and rearranging Day Case procedure and Endoscopy appointments

  • Making outbound calls

  • Maintaining a high standard of customer service

  • Use of hospital systems to effectively support the management of the patient journey

  • Managing theatre capacity

  • Managing pending lists and wait times in line with RTT Framework

  • Processing new referrals from external and internal sources

  • Liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure the patient journey is smooth

  • To work in accordance with policies at all times

Registered with the Care Quality Commission patients can be assured of the highest standards in surgical, nursing, hygiene and aftercare services at Cobalt. The endoscopy service has recently achieved Joint Advisory Group accreditation an industry standard for the delivery of endoscopy procedures so patients can be assured they will receive the highest quality of clinical care and patient experience.
