Job Description:

This role will lead and develop a future-proof Investment Management Team by ensuring a healthy talent pipeline, robust investment processes, and diverse investment expertise; strengthen SLAMHK's investment process and drive it; build a team structure and work structure that is sustainable and effective in translating investment ideas and market views into fund performance. He/she will also cultivate a strong compliance/risk culture for the team, and a performance culture that enables them to further develop personally and professionally.

 

Together with other Responsible Officers of SLAMHK, carry out and supervise the Type 4 & 9 regulated activities of the company. This includes, but not limited to:

• managing the daily investment decision and dealing activities for Sun Life’s MPF Constituent Funds

• ensuring the entire asset management function abides regulatory guidelines/restrictions, without any significant breaches or compliance incidents

• regularly reviewing and enhancing investment processes to make sure our process flow/procedure is both effective and efficient

 

Lead and manage the Investment Management Team to:

• perform all aspects of fund/manager selection, due diligence, monitoring, evaluation

• formulate strategic and tactical asset allocation for all of our managed portfolios

• take ownership of performance: be accountable, as a team, for delivering performance results

• provide investment-related support to internal and external parties as appropriate

• formulate customized Multi-Asset investment solution for institutional clients

   

As a member of the SLAMHK management team:

• takes ownership of the development and implementation of company strategy

• works with SLAMHK CEO in developing the company’s investment capabilities in preparation for further business expansion (e.g. direct investment capability)

• initiates and take ownership of various projects (e.g. fund launch, ESG integration, etc.)

• co-owns the company’s business objectives (e.g. financial targets, AuM growth, etc.) with the management team and contribute to the success of achieving them

• represents SLAMHK in front of external stakeholders, especially key clients and fund houses, and manages business relationship

Skills and experience:

• University graduate in Investment, Finance, Economics or similar discipline
• 15+ years of working experience in fund investment or related fields
• CFA charter holder and/or other relevant professional qualifications a plus
• Solid financial background with good understanding of the global financial market in general, and the ability to think laterally across sectors and asset classes
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to engage, develop, influence and motivate team members
• Positive attitude, ability to think out-of-the-box
• Strong understanding of asset management strategies, financial markets, and regulatory compliance.
