Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Solar Civil Engineer to lead civil engineering and execution activities for utility-scale solar power projects. The role will be responsible for overseeing civil design, engineering coordination, construction and quality of solar project infrastructure, including foundations, module mounting structures, roads, drainage systems, control room buildings and other associated civil works.
The incumbent will coordinate with internal engineering teams, EPC contractors, consultants and other stakeholders to ensure timely execution of projects in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end civil engineering and execution activities for utility-scale solar projects, from site development and planning through construction and handover.
- Review and coordinate civil engineering designs, drawings, BOQs, technical specifications and construction methodologies.
- Oversee site development activities, including land grading, levelling, soil investigation, contour surveys and earthwork.
- Manage construction of foundations for solar module mounting structures (MMS), including pile foundations, driven piles, RCC foundations and related works.
- Supervise construction of inverter foundations, transformer foundations, equipment foundations, control rooms, switchyard structures and other associated infrastructure.
- Monitor construction of internal roads, access roads, stormwater drainage systems, culverts, boundary walls and fencing.
- Coordinate with structural engineering teams for MMS design, foundation design and structural stability.
- Ensure proper implementation of soil testing, geotechnical investigations, concrete testing and other quality control activities.
- Manage EPC contractors, civil subcontractors, consultants and vendors to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality requirements.
- Monitor project progress, resource deployment, material requirements and contractor productivity.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, applicable IS codes, technical specifications and statutory requirements.
- Identify site-level engineering challenges and drive timely resolution of technical and construction-related issues.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control processes, including inspections, testing and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE standards and safe construction practices.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, procurement and project management teams for seamless project execution.
- Drive cost optimisation, minimise rework and ensure efficient utilisation of project resources.
