Data Governance Analyst

Our client is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and processes across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring data quality, compliance, and effective collaboration between IT, business, and compliance teams.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and processes
• Monitor data quality, investigate issues, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders
• Partner with data owners and stewards to maintain data definitions, business glossaries, metadata, and data catalogs
• Support data lineage, classification, and cataloging activities across enterprise systems
• Use SQL to analyze, validate, and reconcile data across systems to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Collaborate with IT, business, and compliance teams to resolve data governance issues, support audits, and track remediation progress
• Document critical data processes, data flows, and business requirements for organizational reference
• Promote consistent data management practices, data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance across the organization

Requirements

• 6–9 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation
• Demonstrated expertise in data quality analysis, data warehousing, and metadata management
• Experience with data catalogs, business glossaries, data lineage, and data classification
• Knowledge of data privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
