Buyer

The Buyer I is responsible for the accurate and timely procurement of materials, supplies, and services to support aerospace manufacturing operations. This entry-level position involves processing purchase orders, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and fostering effective communication with suppliers to ensure quality and delivery standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase Order Processing:
  • Execute purchase orders (POs) promptly and accurately, ensuring all necessary information is included.
  • Attach relevant quotations and specify optimal shipping options and terms.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to prevent shortages.
  • Anticipate material requirements and initiate procurement actions to maintain continuous production flow.
• Supplier Relations:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Assist in obtaining competitive bids and negotiating favorable terms to achieve cost savings.
• Cross-Functional Support:
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide supplier information, including lead times and pricing, to support customer quotations.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from internal departments regarding item availability, order status, and delivery schedules.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and basic understanding of reviewing specifications and drawings.
• Competencies:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic negotiation skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
