What You Will Do

As a Project Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace, you will work with a multi-disciplined, technical design and project management team in executing the engineering design process, in a fast-paced engineering environment, for development and integration of engineered systems and components. The team works closely with our suppliers, our manufacturing sites, and our customers to ensure that our products are best-in-class, and to continually maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. This is the core of what we do in the Power and Controls business. Our major product lines are on-board virtually every aircraft flying. Be it keeping passengers safe with our emergency power generation systems or creating a positive in flight experience through reliable cabin pressure controls and quieter engines, ES focuses on delivering a best-in-class experience to our customers. The Project Engineering Intern shall be responsible for:

• Working with the Project Engineering lead on the program to drive the program forward.
• Assigning and driving action items from meetings to closure.
• Partnering with engineering, test, and manufacturing teams to support program execution.
• Communicating clearly with the supporting team members to ensure proper program execution and to meet schedule needs.
• Coordinating required testing activities with the shop floor or selected test houses.
• Participating in root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software issues.

• Exposure to aerospace certification, standards, or design reviews

 

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

 

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

 

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with project management
• Experience in budgeting as it relates to projects
• Prior leadership experience and working in a team environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint)

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
