Job Description:

Who Are We?

We, the Global Tool Unit (GTU), are part of ITW's Construction Segment. We specialize in the innovation, development, and manufacturing of best-in-class fastening solutions for the global construction market. Our highly differentiated nailers, staplers, and other products are trusted across a wide range of applications, from wood framing and finish work to steel-to concrete installations.

We place strong emphasis on Customer Back Innovation because we know our customers' time is valuable, and shortcuts are never an option. Every product we bring to market is designed with performance, reliability, and productivity in mind because our customers depend on them every day to get the job done.

The GTU currently provides more than 30 tool models across a global market that combine electromechanical subsystems, balancing both pneumatic and cordless technologies, to optimize the fastening experience throughout the trades.

Are you interested in learning how new products move from concept to market?

You are a Rising Senior (planning to graduate in 2028). As a New Product Implementation (NPI) Intern, you will work alongside project managers, engineers, manufacturing teams, quality professionals, and supply chain partners to support the development and launch of new products.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to the complete product development lifecycle while offering opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects that improve execution, communication, and launch readiness. The ideal candidate is organized, curious, data-driven, and excited to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

In addition to supporting product development activities, you will gain practical experience with project management systems and digital workflow tools, including Monday.com. You will have the opportunity to help design and implement workspaces, boards, and dashboards, that improve project visibility and support cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

Support New Product Implementation (NPI) Projects

• Assist project managers with coordinating new product development and launch activities.

• Help maintain project schedules, milestone tracking, meeting notes, action items, risks, and key deliverables.

• Participate in project meetings and support cross-functional teams in tracking progress toward project objectives.

• Aid coordination of activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations.

• Assist with prototype builds, validation activities, launch readiness reviews, and required project documentation.

• Collect, organize, and analyze project data to identify trends, risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.

Support Project Management Systems & Digital Workflows

• Assist in the administration, enhancement, and standardization of Monday.com workspaces, boards, dashboards, automations, and reporting tools.

• Partner with stakeholders to design solutions that improve project visibility, communication, accountability, resource planning and execution.

• Evaluate existing project tracking processes and recommend opportunities to expand the organization's use of Monday.com and other digital workflow tools.

Potential Internship Projects

Examples of projects may include:

• Designing or enhancing Monday.com workspaces, boards, dashboards, automations, and reporting tools.

• Developing executive KPI dashboards using Monday.com, Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Creating standardized project management templates, risk-tracking systems, and launch-readiness frameworks.

• Documenting and improving the NPI process through workflow analysis and process mapping.

• Analyzing historical project and launch data to identify opportunities for operational improvements.

• Building tools such as lessons-learned repositories, workflow automations, or standardized project management practices across teams.

Required Qualifications

• Rising Senior (planning to graduate in 2028) pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, Project Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data analysis, reporting, or visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel.

• Familiarity with project management platforms such as Monday.com, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, or Microsoft Project.

• Interest in product development, manufacturing, operations, project management, or process improvement.

• Experience developing dashboards, reports, databases, automations, or workflow solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

What You'll Gain

• Exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from concept through product launch.

• Hands-on experience working with cross-functional engineering and business teams.

• Practical experience with project management tools, digital workflow design, reporting, and process improvement.

• Opportunities to design and optimize Monday.com workspaces, dashboards, automations, and reporting solutions.

• Mentorship from experienced engineering, product development, and project management professionals.

• A portfolio of impactful projects that demonstrate skills in project management, process improvement, data analysis, and business systems.

Summer Internship Deliverable

By the end of the internship, the selected candidate will complete and present a capstone project to leadership that delivers a measurable improvement to the organization's New Product Implementation process, project management infrastructure, reporting capabilities, or launch readiness framework. Deliverables may include a new Monday.com workspace, executive dashboard, process improvement recommendation, workflow automation solution, or other tool that creates lasting business value.
