Description
What's the role?
As a Quality Manager within Platform & Technology, you will be a pivotal leader driving product and process excellence, compliance, and continuous operational improvement. Operating at the intersection of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and advanced problem-solving, you will embed risk-based thinking across engineering, data, and delivery pipelines. You will lead cross-functional initiatives to institutionalize standardized quality control frameworks, oversee global certification audits, conduct rigorous root cause investigations, and deploy scalable preventive actions that eliminate defect recurrence and elevate customer satisfaction.
What’s the Role?
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-divisional stakeholders across the organization—including Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Customer-facing teams—to align and govern end-to-end processes and operating models. You will act as the principal authority on quality standards and operational reliability, serving as both a strategic governance lead and a hands-on problem solver.
From facilitating high-stakes internal and third-party ISO audits to leading multi-stakeholder task forces during critical quality escapes, you will provide the strategic direction and technical rigor needed to protect product integrity and foster a culture of quality ownership across global, distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Improvement & Re-engineering: Apply advanced analytical techniques, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and Agile practices to identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and optimize delivery workflows for enhanced efficiency and throughput.
- ISO Audits & QMS Governance: Plan, facilitate, and lead internal quality assessments and external ISO 9001 surveillance/recertification audits; establish, harmonize, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality manuals across global sites.
- Strategic Quality Leadership: Support and drive quality governance at both local and global levels; benchmark organizational practices against industry maturity frameworks (e.g., CMMI, ASPICE, EFQM, Malcolm Baldrige).
- Advanced Problem Solving & RCA: Lead cross-functional teams through complex defect escapes, customer incidents, and pipeline anomalies using structured methodologies (8D, DMAIC, 5 Whys, Fishbone / Ishikawa).
- Closed-Loop Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA): Drive the end-to-end execution, tracking, and post-implementation validation of CAPA initiatives, monitoring long-term trends to ensure systemic recurrence prevention.
- Quality Analytics & Statistical Process Control (SPC): Define, monitor, and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs, SLAs, Cost of Poor Quality); utilize statistical process control tools to monitor process capability (SPC) and variation.
- Cultural Transformation & Risk Management: Institutionalize a proactive culture of Risk-Based Thinking across the business unit, integrating proactive risk assessments (e.g., FMEA) into project lifecycles and release pipelines.
- Global Team & Stakeholder Leadership: Lead and mentor global quality professionals, providing strategic vision, coaching on quality tools, and aligning cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Who are you?
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 10+ years of total professional experience in quality assurance, process engineering, or operational excellence, including 7–8+ years of specialized experience in QMS governance and structured problem solving.
- Certifications:
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification is required.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is required (Black Belt is a significant advantage).
- Certifications/experience in CMMI, ASPICE, or EFQM / Malcolm Baldrige Business Excellence models are highly valued.
- Problem Solving & Quality Tools: Demonstrated mastery of structured root cause analysis (8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, 5 Whys) and risk mitigation tools (FMEA, Hazard & Risk Analysis).
- Statistical & Analytical Acumen: Hands-on experience implementing Quality Assurance metrics, Statistical Process Control (SPC), control charting, and data-driven trend analysis.
- Agile & Change Management: Proven track record of managing organizational change and driving quality practices within Agile/DevOps and continuous integration environments.
- Domain Knowledge (Advantage): Domain expertise in GIS / Digital Mapping, Spatial Data pipelines, Automotive OEM data workflows, or large-scale data platform ingestion is a strong plus.
- Tooling Proficiency: Strong working familiarity with collaboration and analytics platforms such as Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Tableau / Power BI, and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel analytics).
