Job Summary

The Analyst, Contract Marketing and Commercial Analysis is responsible for preparing pricing analysis through extensive modeling, including tier pricing recommendations and medical device pricing recommendations. The Analyst also prepares and summarizes commercial and customer analysis to identify key trends and communicates business drivers, market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and product/therapy opportunities to marketing and sales teams. The Analyst is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data from an array of systems to address complex business issues. The primary responsibilities will be to implement all pricing strategies and support contract marketing initiatives for respective customers including management of the daily business functions such as bids, RFI’s/RFP’s, awards, special programs, GPO’s, IDN’s under assigned commercial customers. This role will be a point of contact for Field Sales to articulate pricing recommendations and contract strategy for a variety of Fresenius Kabi customers that deliver maximum return.

This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office 3 days a week.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year.
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages pricing for GPO, IDN’s and complex key accounts.
  • Communicates findings, trend analysis and recommendations verbally and in writing to management and other stakeholders.
  • Works closely with sales teams to assess customer usage, cross references and opportunity analysis for IV Therapy portfolio and Device markets.
  • Provide recommendations on all pricing activities, such as special orders, bids/RFPs terms and condition.
  • Compile and maintain sales data and product information for timely submission of bids/RFP’s/RFI’s by customers.
  • Develops and manages reporting templates used to analyze and interpret data.
  • Articulate the consequences of pricing and business analysis decisions to leadership while weighing multiple factors for contract strategies, pricing, and rebates
  • Ensures data quality of all outgoing reports and analyses.
  • Designs complex ad hoc reports to support a variety of functional areas.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials (i.e. market competitive trends, customer specific trending).
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and develop or enhance tools to assist in the work deliverables.
  • Provide recommendations and review the analysis and business drivers based on cost-benefit analysis interpretation.                  
  • Anticipate the consequences of pricing and business analysis decisions while weighing multiple factors, and review as appropriate with management.
  • Act as project manager and provide analytical support / guidance for minor GPO bid roles.  Assist with major GPO bid roles.
  • Review and action contract compliance monthly.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on pricing activities, initiatives and deliverables for the Commercial organization.
  • Analyze and prepare analysis for the weekly marketing/Commercial Contracting and Analysis update meeting and provide pricing recommendations based on these analysis and feedback.
  • Use SAP, TM1, BEX, MicroStrategy, Qlik and other databases and tools to obtain, prepare, compile and analyze information.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Contract Lifecycle Management & RFP software platforms.
  • Analyze key KPIs to drive improvements in our demand planning.
  • Work with marketing managers and supply chain to ensure the demand forecast is entered into the system.
  • Provide support during the new product launch process by ensuring models and information is up to date.
  • Support the financial forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning process.
  • Responsible for participating in RFI, RFP and bid submissions.
  • Conducts analysis to calculate customer rebates and penalties.
  • Manage and resolve customer pricing disputes.
  • Prepares and distributes ad hoc sales and management reports. 
  • Responsible for the developing and maintaining content for the Contracts and Pricing Team Training Library and SOP’s.
  • Identifies and implements new processes to improve overall team efficiency and productivity.
  • Facilitates and supports cross-functional process improvements.
  • Facilitates and supports the implementation of process improvements in Contract Marketing.
  • Completes all training requirements, including all department-specific, compliance training, etc.
  • Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
  • All employees are responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Advanced degree is a plus).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Demand Planning roles with a proven analysis background. 
  • Knowledge of medical device, hospital/pharmacy products and/or pharmaceutical industry contractual terms and conditions is strongly preferred.
  • Must be analytical, have excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and experience with customer agreements (preferably experience with GPO, IDN, and hospital and/or clinic contracting) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills accompanied with critical thinking and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and advanced skill set with Excel).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), CLM, CRM, Qlik and other database concepts preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects with demonstrated time management skills as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs.
