Position Summary
The Commercial & Insights Analyst is responsible for delivering high-impact analytics and business insights that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role serves as a key bridge between data and the business, ensuring that insights are clearly communicated, commercially relevant, and actionable. The analyst will partner closely with finance, commercial, and operational leaders to identify opportunities for growth, improve performance, and influence strategic decisions. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent commercial awareness, capable of translating complex data into clear recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Commercial, Operations) to understand business challenges and deliver insight-driven solutions
- Translate complex data and analysis into clear, concise, and compelling business narratives for senior stakeholders
- Identify and quantify opportunities for revenue growth, margin improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance tracking tools to support business decision-making
- Deliver regular performance insight highlighting key trends, drivers, risks, and opportunities
- Build analytical models and conduct deep-dive analysis (e.g., segmentation, trend analysis, forecasting) to support strategic initiatives
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, influencing decisions through data-backed recommendations
- Proactively identify areas where data and analytics can improve performance and drive competitive advantage
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting and data outputs
- Support continuous improvement of reporting processes, data quality, and analytics capabilities across the organization
- Contribute to building a data-driven culture, promoting the use of analytics in day-to-day decision-making
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Finance, Analytics, Business, Economics, Engineering, or similar)
- 3-5 years of experience in business analytics, commercial analytics, or a similar role
- Proven ability to deliver insights that drive business decisions and commercial outcomes
- Strong proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL or similar)
- Experience building dashboards, reports, and analytical models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
- Experience working closely with business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting FP&A, commercial strategy, or pricing analytics
- Exposure to customer analytics (retention, segmentation, NPS)
- Experience in energy, propane, or field service environments
- Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques (forecasting, modeling, scenario analysis)
