The Welder Level 2 performs both MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel components with intermediate to advanced proficiency. The position requires the ability to work from complex blueprints, fabricate custom parts, and ensure compliance with inKey
Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel to precise tolerances.
- Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
- Perform welds in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
- Conduct quality control checks, including dimensional verification and basic NDT preparation.
- Assist in developing jigs, fixtures, and process improvements.
- Maintain welder logs, repair records, and consumable usage documentation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional welding experience or equivalent technical training.
- Proficient in MIG and TIG processes on carbon and stainless steel.
- Familiarity with ASME and AWS welding standards preferred.
- Strong understanding of welding metallurgy and heat-affected zones.
- Physical Requirements:Lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long durations in shop and field environments.
- External and customer quality standards.
