What You'll Do:

In the Supervising Clinical Therapist role, you’ll be responsible for providing behavioral health support in a fast-paced, high-acuity Grant Per Diem Program serving Veterans experiencing homelessness. This role provides clinical support. This role provides short-term therapy, crisis intervention, and support for clients with a short-term recuperative need in a residential program.

• Provides direct behavioral health support services to individuals experiencing homelessness. These services include: intake, assessment, treatment planning, case conferencing and counseling
• Supports the care team, including residential and case management staff in direct service provision and clinical care coordination
• Responds to safety concerns in a proactive manner through ongoing assessment and direct clinical interventions.
• Develops and maintains contact with other members of the clinical department throughout agency programs in order to facilitate effective care coordination and collaboration across the agency service spectrum
• Supports treatment team meetings for clinical and/or paraprofessional staff to ensure compliance, best practice and offer clinical supervision for staff working with difficult clients
• Completes accurate and thorough documentation in a timely manner for each program participant as required by funders
• Completes billing documents and reports, including collecting outcomes data within required deadlines.
• Participates in case management meetings, staff meetings, trainings, conferences, program evaluation, and program development
• Attends and supports case conferencing
• Intervenes and de-escalates difficult clients or crises that arise
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with mental health providers to ensure that clients with ongoing treatment needs are successfully transferred to longer-term services
• Maintains accurate records and files and prepares reports as required by funders and agency administration.
• Enter data into electronic data systems as required by funders and Interfaith
• Monitors compliance with grant and contract requirements
• Makes recommendations to Supervisor regarding any program changes needed to meet grant benchmarks
• Ensures the confidentiality of client information and health records
• Completes a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment and develops a detailed treatment plan for each individual in collaboration with case managers as appropriate
• Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques to understand, assess, and shift the individual’s stage of change with the goal of reducing barriers to housing stabilization
• Facilitates acceptance of placement or other services that support and stabilize individuals moving from street to service
• Helps stabilize individuals by linking them to appropriate resources such as housing, medical, mental health, addiction and recovery services, food, clothing, transportation, employment, Social Security Disability, mainstream benefits and other financial resources based on the client’s individualized plan
• Supports the optimal operations of the Grant Per Diem Program and client care
• Meets regularly with Supervisor and participates in agency meetings and staff trainings.
• Creates, plans, and oversees monthly activity calendar
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Clinical Supervisor Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and regular supervision to clinical staff and interns
• Review cases, assessments, treatment plans, documentation, and clinical decisions
• Support the development of clinical skills, professional judgment, ethics, and professional growth
• Provide ongoing feedback and address performance, competency, and developmental needs
• Track and verify clinical and supervision hours
• Identify and address clinical risks, including safety, ethical, boundary, and practice concerns
• Ensure interns receive appropriate clinical experience and supervision in accordance with program and licensing requirements
• Provide guidance during clinical crises and other urgent situations
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical staff and intern schedules, caseloads, workloads, and productivity
• Monitor team performance, service delivery, attendance, and overall operations
• Develop and implement policies and procedures and ensure compliance with organizational and contractual requirements
• Conduct employee evaluations and address performance or disciplinary matters
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development
• Manage team resources and operational needs
• Participate in leadership meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives
• Provide on-call support for urgent clinical concerns and crisis situations, as needed
• Consult regularly with the Program Manager regarding staffing, performance, clinical operations, and other management matters
• Escalate complex, high-risk, or sensitive issues to the appropriate manager in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements

Who You Are:

You're passionate about making a lasting impact, whether supporting individuals directly or enhancing our organizational effectiveness. To thrive in this role, you'll:

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field, required
• Must be currently licensed in the State of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in social services, nonprofit, behavioral health, or a related setting, required 
• Minimum of 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience, required
• Experience working with individuals who are severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and/or experiencing homelessness, preferred

• Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients
• Must have experience and knowledge of working with disenfranchised individuals, families and cultures
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple deadlines and working effectively under pressure, using independent judgment to produce quality work under time constraints
• Demonstrated experience working with a collaborative team to drive successful projects to completion
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret quantitative information
• Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to communicate effectively among a diverse workforce population and maintain sound working relations with all levels within the organization.

• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality over all matters in the course of business operations including client and employee information.

• Ability to provide supervision to students, interns or associate clinicians 

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to perform work in both indoor and outdoor settings
• Must have the physical ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, bend, kneel and uses hands, arms and legs for dexterity and balance on a frequent basis
• May be subjected to adverse conditions, including contact from hostile people
• Low to moderate exposure to contagious diseases (hepatitis, HIV, tuberculous, etc.)
• Low to moderate exposure of unpleasant and noxious fumes, odors, dust, temperatures, noise and inclement weather
• Occasionally lifts, carries and balances objects weighing up to 30 pounds
• Pulls and pushes such objects as file drawers, computers and similar office equipment and supplies
• Prioritizes and multi-tasks work and projects requiring good memory , concentration and analytical thinking
• Occasionally is required to perform the safe operation of a vehicle, office equipment and machines, and recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace
• Must be able to hear, see including distinction of colors, read and communicate verbally and in writing frequently with a wide range of people from divergent socio-economic backgrounds and origins
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low

Location: Onsite/Oceanside

Hours: Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm (with on-call schedule)

Salary: $91,715-$118,890
