About the Role
Responsible for supporting underwriting automation and system enhancement initiatives through business analysis, testing, and production support. Partner with business and technology stakeholders to improve underwriting processes, Straight Through Processing (STP), and digital capabilities.This role is ideal for professionals with experience in Business Analysis, System Support, Testing, and Underwriting Operations who enjoy bridging business and technology to deliver better customer and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development, enhancement, testing (UAT/SIT), and maintenance of underwriting automation solutions and rules engines.
Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into functional specifications and system solutions.
Drive system improvement initiatives for Straight Through Processing (STP), electronic submission platforms, and underwriting applications.
Prepare and execute test scenarios, coordinate issue resolution, and perform post-deployment validation.
Conduct impact analysis, defect investigation, and production support for underwriting systems.
Support underwriting audit activities and ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and vendors on system implementation, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Science, Life Sciences, Insurance, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Business Analysis, System Support, Testing, or Insurance System Implementation.
Hands-on experience supporting system development, enhancement, UAT/SIT, and production support.
Knowledge of underwriting processes and insurance products, preferably within Life Insurance or Takaful.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in requirements gathering and impact analysis.
Experience managing stakeholders and investigating system issues and defects.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA or equivalent.
Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Experience with underwriting rules engines, underwriting automation platforms, or digital underwriting solutions will be an added advantage.
