Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Services Supervisor. The Maintenance Services Supervisor leads and coordinates maintenance services with a focus on safety, reliability, execution, and documentation discipline. This role sets expectations, drives performance, and ensures all activities align with organizational safety standards and best practices. A critical responsibility is enforcing Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) excellence, ensuring all energy isolation activities are properly executed, verified, and fully documented to maintain a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment. This role is located in East Alton, IL and will be fully on-site.
Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually
May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities
Maintenance Services Supervisor Responsibilities:
Maintenance Services Leadership
- Set expectations and oversee:
- Roll Grinding, Roll Building, Rebuilds & Refurbishments
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and documentation standards
- Require complete work orders, condition reports, and job documentation
Shop Ownership & Improvements
- Maintain safe, organized (5S) shop environments:
- Maintenance Shop, Welders Area, Pipefitters Area
- Improve workflow, layout, and tooling readiness
- Establish documented standard work and visual controls, including LOTO readiness
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Manage VMI inventory and stock levels and item additions
- Oversee storeroom returns using the Yellow Tag system
Outage & Repair Coordination
- Lead equipment outages including planning, execution, and review
- Ensure all outages include:
- Documented LOTO plans, execution tracking, and sign-offs
- Post-job reviews with documented improvements
- Coordinate non-critical mobile equipment repairs with proper service records
Procurement & Material Management
- Order and manage shop materials (tooling, steel, consumables)
- Maintain inventory levels and cost control
Documentation & Process Discipline
Drive a culture of accountability through documentation, including:
- Complete and accurate work orders and maintenance history
- Full LOTO documentation and audit readiness
- Inventory tracking and vendor repair records
- Safety observations, audits, and corrective actions
- Standard procedures that are current, accessible, and followed
Leadership & Accountability
- Lead and support maintenance technicians and specialists
- Hold team accountable for safety, execution, and documentation compliance
- Communicate priorities clearly and collaborate across departments
- Reinforce LOTO discipline and documentation standards at all times
Maintenance Services Supervisor Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or minimum 5-7 years managerial experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on industrial equipment.
- Ability to communicate and make decisions, adapt to cultural change, and work within a diverse environment. Requires skills to manage conflict, coach, and mentor.
- CMRP certification a plus.
- CMMS experience required. SAP experience a plus.
- Experience in a union environment implementing change initiatives considered a plus.
