Key responsibilities
In this role, you will lead and coordinate contract and claim management activities across our Electrification Smart Buildings and Smart Power Divisions in Germany with operations in Lüdenscheid, Heidelberg, Sasbach and Hornberg. You will be a key contact when it comes to assessing contract risks, supporting customer negotiation and tender processes, and protecting ABB’s commercial interests during project execution. With your strong legal and commercial understanding, you will work closely with the legal department and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and resolve disputes where needed.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Identifying contract baselines and conducting risk assessments and risk reviews in line with internal guidelines and processes
Reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts, frame agreements and non-disclosure agreements in close collaboration with contract management, legal and business teams (both sales and procurement)
Drafting and managing (legal) correspondence with customers and suppliers
Supporting the legal team in the resolution of disputes, claims, litigation, and arbitration
Protecting ABB’s contractual position throughout the project lifecycle, including change and deviation management
Ensuring integrity and compliance with the ABB Code of Conduct as well as global and local contract management standards and tools
Qualifications for the role
Degree in Law, Business Law, or a comparable field with a solid understanding of economic and contractual frameworks
Practical experience in contract and claim management, ideally in an industrial environment
Ability to work independently and to pro-actively seek solutions
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Hands-on mentality with a motivated, structured, and solution-oriented working style
Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively in cross-functional and international teams
Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
