Position Title: Network O&S Internship

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time
Description of Duties:
The Network O&S Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
- Assist in Cisco IOS router and switch upgrades, rollbacks and troubleshooting.
- Assist in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Help monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and system alerts.
- Perform physical device installations, patching cables, and auditing server rack diagrams.
- Document network topology maps, IP address allocations, and inventory lists.

Basic Requirements:
- Must have 1, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- May be reduced with completion of advanced education
- Must be a recent graduate OR currently enrolled in an accredited associate or bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline with at least sophomore-level standing.
- Must have a basic understanding of TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, and DNS/DHCP, along with familiarity with the OSI model.
- Must have academic or lab exposure to the Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI), including basic router/switch configuration concepts.
- Must be able, and willing, to work scheduled evening maintenance windows to support live network operations and changes.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to document technical steps and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Must have a current DoW IAT Levl II certification (ex: CompTIA Security+ CE certification, or equivalent foundational cybersecurity knowledge (e.g., understanding network access control and device hardening)).
- Must have, or obtain, an active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Compensation Details:
$20.67/hr
