Consultants provide VAT compliance services and advice to a wide range of clients operating across sectors and countries.

They work continually to help ensure their clients make informed business decisions in light of VAT changes and developments. They monitor and anticipate changes to VAT legislation and respond quickly with advice specific to their clients’ compliance requirements.

They focus on preparing and submitting VAT declarations in countries where clients conduct strategic transactions. They are also responsible for managing client relationships, communicating with clients and tax authorities in several countries, and monitoring and following up on related processes.

The position requires the ability to work with clients and tax authorities in several jurisdictions, as well as the technical VAT knowledge needed to provide VAT services to clients in multiple countries. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and understand clients’ businesses and flows to help ensure VAT compliance is completed efficiently and VAT declarations and associated documents are submitted by the appropriate deadlines.
  • Analyze VAT data submitted by clients and prepare and validate VAT declarations to ensure completed forms comply with legislation and regulations in each country.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and prepare reports and advisory emails.
  • Serve as a point of contact with tax authorities in countries where clients conduct strategic transactions.
  • Handle the receipt of and responses to information requests and audits conducted by tax authorities on behalf of clients.
  • Assist Senior Consultants and Managers in dealing with other intricate business issues of clients.
  • Follow up on VAT registration and deregistration processes to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations in different countries.
  • Help businesses and individuals develop strategies for managing VAT and preparing for future financial needs.
  • Proactively research and update the VAT knowledge database.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Law, Management, or Economics.
  • Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written. Additional language skills will also be valued in the recruitment process.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet navigation and research.
