We currently have an opportunity for a Plant Human Resources Manager at our Manufacturing Facility in Jacksonville, IL.

Responsibilities

The Plant Human Resources Manager serves as the strategic HR business partner for the assigned manufacturing facility, leading all aspects of human resources operations, employee relations, talent management, and organizational effectiveness. This role partners closely with plant leadership to develop and execute people strategies that support business objectives, foster an engaged workforce, ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, and cultivate a high-performance culture focused on safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Human Resources business partner for assigned manufacturing operations.
  • Lead employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Coach leaders on employee performance, engagement, talent development, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR programs.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives and operational excellence.
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, retention, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Utilize workforce analytics to support business decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, coach, and lead HR team members while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Essential Duties

  • Partner with plant and business leadership to develop and execute human resources strategies aligned with operational goals.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on employee relations, performance management, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning.
  • Lead recruitment activities for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly positions, partnering with Talent Acquisition to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Analyze workforce data and HR metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions that improve organizational performance.
  • Support succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs that enhance leadership capability, employee development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage HR records, reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in cross-functional business initiatives and enterprise HR projects.
  • Manage external HR vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while promoting accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Support food safety, SQF, GMP, and regulatory compliance requirements, where applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Experience

  • 6+ years of progressive Human Resources Generalist or Human Resources Business Partner experience. 
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, operations, distribution, or industrial environments.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, and developing direct reports.
  • Experience managing employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Experience interpreting and applying employment laws and HR policies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategies with business objectives.
  • Excellent employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during critical business periods.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for business initiatives and special projects.

Bonus

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with ADP or other Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.
  • Experience supporting union-free manufacturing operations.

Posted Salary Range

USD $98,400.00 - USD $139,000.00 /A

Bonus Eligibility

Role is eligible for 10% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
