Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient workups, including medical history, vision assessment, and intraocular pressure checks
- Accurately scribe for physicians and maintain documentation in EMR systems
- Conduct diagnostic testing such as OCT, visual fields, lensometry, and angiography
- Assist with retina-specific procedures, including intravitreal injections, lasers, and minor in-office procedures
- Support physicians and clinical staff in ensuring smooth patient flow and excellent service
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong computer and EMR skills
- Previous experience in ophthalmology or a related healthcare field preferred, but not required
- COA or COT certification preferred; candidates with less experience will be considered if otherwise qualified
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered care
