Job Description Summary
Lamb Weston’s ESG Engagement Specialist will support the Company’s interaction with internal and external stakeholders. This position will participate in and/or lead a variety of internal and external activities including cross functional collaboration with multiple internal teams including Supply Chain, HR, EHS, Marketing, Communications, commercial teams, and others as needed.
External engagement activities will involve working with customers, suppliers, auditors, and ESG rating, ranking and certification systems. Along with the Sr. Director, ESG Administration, this position will ensure Lamb Weston’s sustainability strategy and programs are moving forward, customer expectations are being met, and progress is represented accurately and consistently across various audiences.
Job Description
- Develop, track, and support ESG and Sustainability initiatives and programs.
- Own the management of Lamb Weston’s social accountability program.
- Collaborate on training development and best practice sharing.
- Engage with internal teams to ensure messaging is consistently and accurately conveyed to all stakeholders (internal and external).
- Partner with Communications and Marketing to enhance internal and external messaging
- Help facilitate core programs and processes to ensure appropriate level of focus and accountability occurs.
- Work with Lamb Weston ESG Team Members as well as key internal customers, including Global Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Ag Services, Capital Management, and Corporate Finance groups to support and track strategy and roadmap deliverables.
- Lead tactical external engagement activities including customer sustainability requirements and inquiries, questionnaires, ESG related rating/ranking systems.
- Develop sustainability content, in collaboration with Corp. Communications, Sales, and/or Marketing for use in strategic employee, customer, and investor engagement activities.
- Cultivate relationships with teammates, industry peers, customers, and suppliers.
- Other special projects and ad hoc responsibilities as requested.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Sustainability or general business preferred.
Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years general business experience, with preferred experience in ESG or Sustainability. Candidates with Supply Chain, Communications, or Marketing experience may be considered.
- Understanding of ESG and sustainability strategies, insights, metrics, and reporting.
- Comfortable influencing stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve strategic objectives.
- Able to adjust to changing circumstances. Is flexible, resilient, collaborative and solution oriented.
- Enthusiastic about expanding knowledge and continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to think logically, manage projects, problem-solve, and lead initiatives in an organized and efficient manner.
- Experience effectively working across multiple departments to support a project or resolve an organizational challenge.
- Demonstrated successful interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to communicate with internal teams at all levels of the organization, field level to executive leaders.
- High proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects & work independently.
Physical Environment/Demands:
- Some travel may be required to plant locations.
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
