Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of procurement duties related to planning, sourcing, buying, negotiating, and receiving goods.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure purchased items stay within inventory targets. Identify any short-term or long-term supply gaps and work with suppliers to solve them.
- Develop mutually beneficial supplier partnerships, which may include site visits, weekly performance meetings and hosting supplier visits.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, taking expedite/de-expedite/cancel actions as appropriate. Communicate delivery dates and risks with other Advita personnel.
- Consistently review MRP and non-MRP supply purchasing requirements and place orders consistent with company guidelines and procedures. Validate and adjust purchasing plans based on MRP signals. Investigate and challenge planning and forecasting inputs. Set and maintain MRP parameters where appropriate.
- Evaluate supplier delivery performance monthly and provide supporting data or commentary.
- Communicate purchasing forecasts to suppliers on a scheduled and/or ad hoc basis.
- Coordinate with internal teams to solve technical or quality problems.
- Research, select, approve, and manage appropriate suppliers for purchases. Continually strive to find suppliers that will provide high-quality, cost-effective products and services that are delivered on time. Develop alternative suppliers for key products based on risk assessment.
- Understand and follow all SOPs in the purchasing area.
- Generate and manage purchase orders and other forms/outputs from the QAD ERP system.
- Apply supply chain best practices and optimization techniques to improve business outcomes.
- Review, influence and facilitate supply contracts.
- Know and apply the Advita Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International Standards
Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- 2+ years working in the medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated industry preferred.
- Experience with QAD or similar ERP system.
- Experience with MRP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent Communication Skills (verbal & written).
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
