Fluence Digital is seeking a Product Owner to join our Melbourne-based team and play a key role in the delivery and operation of Mosaic, our market-leading SaaS energy trading optimisation platform.
Working closely with teams across Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Market Analytics, and Operations, you will drive the planning, prioritisation, and successful delivery of product enhancements and operational initiatives. This role is critical in connecting business and technical teams to ensure high-quality solutions that deliver value to customers while supporting the ongoing evolution of our platform.
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager APAC, this position offers the opportunity to grow with a rapidly scaling business as Mosaic expands across new customers, energy asset types, and markets.
Responsibilities
Own sprint and release planning processes, ensuring consistent delivery of high-value product increments.
Translate business and user requirements into a well-prioritised product backlog, breaking down complex challenges into scalable solutions.
Provide prioritisation and direction to engineering and data science teams, balancing operational needs, technical debt, and strategic product initiatives.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to remove delivery blockers and support key platform initiatives.
Define acceptance criteria, user experiences, and expected feature behaviours to support development, testing, and release decisions.
Facilitate product demonstrations, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and maintain product and technical documentation.
Coordinate delivery of compliance, market, and operational commitments, ensuring alignment with key milestones.
Support operational teams by providing product expertise and assisting with incident triage and resolution.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years' experience in a Product Owner, Delivery Lead, or similar role, ideally within energy, utilities, or other critical systems environments.
Knowledge of energy markets, preferably the National Electricity Market (NEM) or another competitive wholesale electricity market.
Proven ability to manage complex technical products and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones.
Ability to balance short-term operational priorities with long-term product and platform objectives.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks, planning processes, and associated metrics.
Experience supporting operational environments, including incident triage, issue diagnosis, and resolution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving risks and blockers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Requirements
Experience working with data science, machine learning, or AI-driven products and platforms.
Familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations.
Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Interest in the energy transition and technology solutions that support evolving energy markets.
