About the Role
The role is to assist the Senior Actuarial Manager by: (1) owning regular actuarial reporting and analysis; (2) contributing to the Reporting Pipeline Improvement project; (3) providing actuarial insights for strategic initiatives that support the Company’s business objectives; and (4) managing junior team members.Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Own the following BAU area
Regular actuarial report & analysis, including calculation and trend explanation of reserve, solvency, embedded value, operating profit (OPAT), Value of New Business (VONB), reinsurance, and persistency.
Quarterly / Monthly Management Report (QMR)
Reinsurance admin
Yearly business / strategic plan
Yearly experience study
Working with regulator / auditor
2. Contribute to the project “Reporting pipeline improvement”
Set up Azure Microsoft SQL Server database to store historical and current reporting (actual/target) data.
Use Python & T-SQL to automate / calculate any output requirement.
Setup dashboard in Power BI to replace existing Excel-based report.
Implementation of IFRS17
3. Provide actuarial support for ad hoc strategic initiatives across distribution channels and perform other tasks assigned by the manager as business requirements arise.
4. Manage and train junior member in the team including Programming / Coding, Actuarial concept, Accounting concept, work ethic
Communication Requirements Internal:
(80% internal)
Input request, project timeline, result presentation, UAT result
Key stakeholders: Group Finance, Group Actuarial, Local Finance, Agency, Partnership Distribution, Local IT, and EXCO.
(20% external)
Submit & explain & analyze the resulting numbers.
Auditor, regulator supervisor
Job Requirements:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another relevant discipline is preferred.
Experience – minimum 5 years of working actuarial experience.
Demonstrate practical coding skills and a willingness to further develop the technical capabilities required to maintain, support, and enhance the current technology stack, including VBA, Python, SQL, Prophet, HTML, and JavaScript.
Good interpersonal communication in English.
Be a collaborative team player with a desire to learn and continuously improve existing processes.
A sense of responsibility and ownership of the task assigned.
Strong analytical & logical thinking & be able to self-learn (requiring minimal instruction from manager)
